J1 visa Work & Travel  programs with Interns San Diego starts by reviewing your information and resume, J1 visacommunicating with you to clarify details and advise and assist you to appropriately represent yourself to obtain a rewarding training program.

    Work & Travel is 4 months work & 25 days travel in duration.

    We help you clarify & focus your expectations, allowing you to truthfully represent your strengths to obtain a qualified J1 visa and Work & Travel job.

    ISD provides You:

  • The coordination and contact service to obtain the appropriate intern training program & placement.
  • Guidance for our International students in their new community and intern job in the USA.
  • Through our program you will:

  • Be assisted in choosing your program by pre-qualifying and arranging this training opportunity.
  • Connect with an employer who will cooperate with the training program that we pre-qualify and assist with creating specifically for our International student.
  • Help you with completing the necessary paper work.
  • Prepare and groom you for your cover letter, special resume needed for this program and interview strategy and feedback.
  • Obtain a J1 visa, for Work & Travel , through a designated sponsor who has the authority to issue a DS2019 form.
  • Upon being granted a J1 visa, your I-94 card will be stapled to your passport. The card will be stamped "J1 D/S".
  • You must be between 18 and 30 years old.
    Be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university or other state-recognized institution of post-secondary education. The degree/diploma course on which you are registered must be at least 2 years in duration. Students on postgraduate
    courses, which are less than two years, can also be accepted (e.g. masters courses). "Gap year" students or high school graduates are not eligible.
    Be able to function in an English-speaking work environment. Before participating on the Work & Travel USA Program, you will be screened for an intermediate/advanced level of English ability. This can be verified by having a Certified English Teacher fill out the English Ability and Reference section of the application form and/or by submitting scores from an accredited English test: TOEFL, TOEIC, Cambridge English Exam (First, Advanced, Proficiency).
    Undergo an interview, conducted by an ISD staff member or a partner organization agent either in person or by telephone.
    Have a prearranged job and a minimum of $475 (US dollars) available in order to support yourself upon arrival in the USA. When a prearranged job is not required and the participant does not have a job, US$950 must be available in personal funds upon arrival in the USA.

    Your J-1 visa does not allow you to do the following jobs on the Work & Travel USA program:
    Au pair/ nanny/ babysitting/ domestic labor
    Camp counselor
    Medical/ veterinary/ pharmaceutical services or any job that requires direct patient contact or dispensing of medication
    Teacher/ coach
    Crew member on ships or airplanes, or as pilots
    Sales jobs involving purchasing sales merchandise to resell (e.g
    . door-to-door sales).
    Adult Industry Jobs

    You are now set to make your travel arrangements to the San Diego International Airport, California.  

  • This will insure that you arrive coordinated on time for your USA internship, without any problems.
  • We prearrange housing for single apartment, or single occupancy per room, or shared room, if desired with other interns
  • We arrange for your cultural activates so that you will be familiar with your new community and other interns.
  • Upon arrival at San Diego International Airport, your designated Interns San Diego Coordinator will be there to greet you and escort you to your apartment.  It is important that you have the following documents with you.
    • 1) Passport
    • 2) DS2019
    • 3) I-94 card

    We stay involved with you through out your entire pre-qualification & Work & Travel  process.
