J1 visa Internship Programs and our process.

    A J1 visa or J1 waiver with Interns San Diego starts by reviewing your information and resume, J1 visacommunicating with you to clarify details and advise and assist you to appropriately represent yourself to obtain a rewarding training program.

    Internship Programs range up to 18 months in duration. An 18-month position vs. a shorter duration usually means you get a better position, with a better company, and with a bonus stipend upon the discretion of the employer that you have added value to their organization. Undergraduate students with greater education and commitment experience generally get a better internship position. You must be 20 years old.

    We help you clarify & focus your expectations, allowing you to truthfully represent your strengths to obtain a qualified J1 visa and meaningful training program.

    ISD provides:

  • The coordination and contact service to obtain the appropriate intern internship program & placement.
  • Guidance for our International students in their new community and intern job in the USA.

    Through our program you will:

  • Be assisted in choosing your program by pre-qualifying and arranging this internship opportunity.
  • Connect with an employer who will cooperate with the internship/training program that we pre-qualify and assist with creating specifically for our International student.
  • Provide the employer who will cooperate with the training program that we assist ion creating with them specifically for your background.
  • Help you with completing the necessary paper work.
  • Prepare and groom you for your cover letter, special resume needed for this program and interview strategy and feedback.
  • Obtain a J1 visa, for training/internship, through a designated sponsor who has the authority to issue a DS2019 form.
  • Upon being granted a J1 visa, your I-94 card will be stapled to your passport. The card will be stamped "J1 D/S".
  • You are now set to make your travel arrangements to the San Diego International Airport, California.  

  • This will insure that you arrive coordinated on time for your USA internship, without any problems.
  • We prearrange housing for single apartment or single occupancy per room or shared room if desired, with other interns
  • We arrange for your cultural activates so that you will be familiar with your new community and other interns.
  • Upon arrival at San Diego International Airport, your designated Interns San Diego Coordinator will be there to greet you and escort you to your apartment.  It is important that you have the following documents with you.
    • 1) Passport
    • 2) DS2019
    • 3) I-94 card

    We stay involved with you through out your entire pre-qualification & training process.
